Clean North is having a mulch giveaway and cedar tree/native plant sale on August 27 (read details before attending)

Once again, Clean North is having a sale of products that help make our world greener and healthier. This event will be held from 9 am to noon on Saturday, August 27 at Lemieux Composting on Black Road. Below is a list of what items will be available with details/prices for each. Read this list carefully to avoid disappointment on sale day.

Items for sale (restrictions, prices, etc.)

  1. Clean North mulch made from chipped Christmas trees:
    • IMPORTANT: This year we have a limited quantity available. Please no trailers, and each customer will be limited to one large trash can’s worth of mulch. To ensure fairness, we will measure using our can and then mulch can be transferred to your bins.
    • Cost: Free by donation.
  2. Lemieux Composting mulch made from mixed arbourist wood chips—free by donation
  3. Potted eastern white cedar trees:
    • Native cedars from local seed so well-adapted to our growing conditions
    • About 4 feet tall
    • $10 each
    • You MUST reserve trees in advance; email info@cleannorth.org and let us know how many you want
  4. Native plant seedlings:
    • Limited quantity; first come, first served; limit of four plants per customer
    • $5 each
    • Species (winter-hardy perennials and pollinator pleasers!):
      • Swamp milkweed
      • Smooth aster
      • Anise hyssop
      • Oxeye sunflower
      • Gray-headed coneflower (flowers are yellow)
      • Joe Pye weed

Proceeds from this sale go back into Clean North programs and activities.
