Apply for a Clean North/Shaw scholarship!

Clean North and Shaw have come together to provide Algoma District youth with scholarship opportunities to help make the future brighter together (learn more about how Shaw is supporting communities and the environment here). We will be awarding two $500 scholarships (one university and one college) to graduating high school students who will be attending an environmental education program at an Ontario-based university or college. 

Scholarship objectives 

  • To promote environmental awareness, education, and stewardship among Algoma District youth and encourage a new generation of environmental stewards for our region 
  • To encourage and provide financial support to graduating high school students enrolled full-time in the first year of an Ontario-based university or college program 

Selection criteria 

★ Graduating from a high school in Algoma District in 2022 
★ Good academic standing (not on probation/suspension) 
★ Accepted/enrolled full time in an Ontario university or college environmental program for the 2022-2023 academic year 
★ Record of some community service/extracurricular activities 
★ Reference information from a teacher or supervisor 
★ Application fully completed/returned by June 5, 2022

Application process 

1. Complete the application form

2. Assemble the following documents as a PDF/PDFs: 

  • Application form
  • Current resume including community service/extracurricular activities 
  • Recent academic transcript signed by the school principal 
  • University or college letter of acceptance into an environmental program 

3. Email these documents to info@cleannorth.org by no later than June 5, 2022. Direct the email to Attn: Clean North Scholarship Committee.
