we have a recycler, and other news

I just got off the phone with Arnold Blumenthal, from a firm in north Toronto that has handled our stuff twice before. He's happy to work with us again.

I chatted with him about monitors, they work with refurbishers to reuse tubes and yokes, and then send leftover plastics to a recycler. He's invited us to visit their operation anytime we like, they're at Hwy 400 and Hwy 7.

Unfortunately Bud Pekalski at TransPro has gone home for the weekend, so I will chat with him next Tuesday. But this location (400 and #7) should be a piece of cake, and Bud has sent our stuff there before, for free. I'd say we're good to go.

Peter has secured the PUC building on Second Line for the weekend of Sept 19 and 20. Businesses and institutions may drop off on Friday _by appointment only_ and we need a form filled in, can be found on our website. Public drop off and shopping on the Saturday.

Dan, Jim, Peter, and I took a look at the site yesterday and it's just fine! We have access to one person-door and two loading docks, so we can have one dock for drop offs and triage, and the second dock with the transport there for immediate loading of the red-dot items. It should be smooth.

I will as usual check with TransPro about a second truck for a contingency plan. Anyone who will be able to help on Monday morning the 22nd, please sign up for the contingency work crew for loading the second truck if required. I don't think that's a PD day, so high school students may be out. Although, I have had a request to talk with a Grade ten classroom about CN activities and their teacher also wants them to volunteer... hmmmm.

I saw Steve Lewis today and he's taken down the information for some radio freebies. He works in advertising for EZRock now.

Mike and Giselle are with us for monitors again, Jim and Dan for organizing the technical side. Peter and Jack to handle truck loading. Suzanne, are you in for Sales? I need a volunteer for phoning volunteers, will ask Debbie. Don, are you in for rounding up crews of young labour, and for soliciting high school techies? I'll let you know when volunteer orientation will be.

Woo-hoo, here we go again!
