Throughout the world people wear gloves for a multitude of reasons. Why, after losing a glove, are we so reluctant to throw away the remaining glove? Virtually everyone has an odd glove languishing away at the back of a closet. Who are we kidding? A lost glove is as likely to reappear as is an extinct species. The artists, therefore, are offering the remaining glove a "mission." Participants are invited to bring a glove, include a message indicating what they will do to protect the environment, place their message in the glove and add it to the exhibit. Just as one raises a hand to pledge one's word of honour, the glove remains as a pledge to protect the earth. The future of this planet is "in our hands." Globally we must "join hands," working together to safeguard our diminishing natural resources; individually we must "raise/lend a hand" to make a difference in the world. Participants are encouraged to write/record their messages both in English and in their native languages.
