from the don't-panic-go-organic dept.
An article in the March issue of Environmental Health Perspectives describes a study of preschool kids and their dietary intake of organophosphorus pesticides. Results say if you feed kids a conventional diet, their exposure exceeds EPA guidelines, but on a diet of organic produce, their exposure drops to well below the level of "negligible risk". Story here, and study description here.
RE: I agree that Pesticides are dangerous.
I am Josee Rainville, Pesticides is a large group, of which Herbicides are one in the group. Its the herbicides that are used widely, both cosmetically on public places, and widely used in Agricultural food.by Josee Rainville on 2003-04-05 15:17:22
Many organic groups are allowed to use Round up in between row plantings to control the weeds.
Get rid of the Herbicides and you will get rid of a lot of sickness in both children and adults alike.
