This January will be the eleventh year for the Tree festival, which thanks to local sponsors, sees thousands of discarded Christmas trees chipped up for mulch and kept out of landfill. In past years, the volunteers at Clean North, along with sponsors Dial Source Plus and Soo Disposal, have added a recycling collection of old corrugated cardboard, and of old telephone books. This tradition continues this season, too, with the recycling bins arriving on site on the 27th of December.
But we want to make this bigger! Does your business or organization want to collect items from the community - either to reuse or to recycle? We want to know about it!
Call us and let us know. Maybe there's a way we can plan a collection for you, too. Call 945-1573 or email kathie@cleannorth.org if you have an idea. Don't wait! We're in planning now.
